The Research Operations team at Syracuse University supports a ThermoFisher Supply Center, which offers a convenient online portal for ordering thousands of products with no-cost, overnight shipping, even those that require dry ice. Any research personnel at Syracuse University may use the Supply Center. Please contact us at labsupplies@syr.edu to discuss your needs.

Key details of the Service Center:
- We have deliveries two days a week: Tuesday and Friday.

Account Setup and Pickup Personnel
Account Setup: To setup a Supply Center account, visit this link to the Supply Center splash page. New Account creation is in the bottom right. Customer service for the website is provided by Thermofisher Scientific at:

Please ensure you have “delivery confirmation” emails enabled.
Designated Pickup Personnel:
- Each research group using the Supply Center should designate up to three (3) personnel who will be given cardswipe access to the pickup location in Bowne Hall. To request access, please email labsupplies@syr.edu.
Ordering
When ordering, select “Syracuse University – Supply Center” as the account. This account provides free shipping, including any required cryogenics, from much of the Thermofisher Scientific life sciences catalogue using the “non-stocked item” option. For specifics about using the Supply Center website, please see the attached Quick Reference Guide in the files at right.
POs and Credit Cards: Standing purchase orders are the preferred method of providing payment to the Supply Center; please work with department administrators for setup.
Timing of orders:
- There are deliveries two days a week: Tuesday and Friday.
- For items that can be overnighted, please order by 11:30 am on Monday and Thursday for next-day delivery.
Order/shipping confirmation: When you order you will get an automated email confirmation from Thermofisher. When your package ships, you will get a second automated email confirmation.
Item Pickup
Delivery confirmation: You will get a third automated email from Thermofisher when your package has been received by Syracuse University’s Materials Distribution. This email will be your only notification that the package has arrived on campus and will be available that day for pickup.
- Delivery to Materials Distribution is typically late morning, so you should expect your package to be available to pickup by 1 pm in the 4th Floor of Bowne Hall. Pickup is behind the glass sliding door in the indicated location.
- Your item will be labelled with your name or the research group name, if available, and stored at the appropriate temperature (4°C, -20°C, or bench).
- The Supply Center on-site manager will retain packing slips for one calendar year if needed by departmental staff.
Hazardous Chemicals: It is possible to order hazardous chemicals through the Supply Center that require a chemical inventory barcode from Environmental Health and Safety Services (EHSS). These reagents will be identified as hazardous, flammable, toxic, and potentially other classifications via labels on the packages and/or bottles. In these cases, we require the following additional procedures:
- The package will still be delivered to Bowne Hall, as above.
- A representative from the research group must email EHSS@syr.edu to self-identify receipt of the hazardous chemical(s).
- EHSS will log the chemical in the inventory system and arrange for a barcode to be generated and placed on the reagent.
