Faculty Bridge Funding Program

The purpose of the  Bridge Funding Program is to provide interim resources to Syracuse University faculty to ensure the continuation of research efforts that have demonstrated a high likelihood of securing federal funding. It is intended to support the research activities of projects for which no other funding resources are immediately available. Bridge Funding is not intended to seed-fund new research projects, to support new directions in research, or to restart research programs that have not received external funding for more than three years. Awards, if approved, will be made on a rolling basis. Proposals should be submitted at least one month prior to the necessary start date to allow for review and processing time.

Faculty Creative Activities and Research (FCAR) Grant Program

The purpose of this intramural grant program is to support research and creative endeavors and increase high-quality scholarly output by Syracuse University faculty. The program provides up to $5,000 for one-year projects in order to support new research and creative endeavors and increase high-quality scholarly output by faculty. We anticipate that the FCAR Grant Program will be offered two times annually to provide flexibility for faculty to request funding. Funding will roughly align with projects starting in the fall and spring semesters.

Good to Great (G2G) Grant Program

This program supports Syracuse University faculty efforts to resubmit or prepare revised proposal submissions to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Science Foundation (NSF), or other funder for proposals that were previously scored favorably but funded. Selected PIs/faculty teams will be awarded up to $20,000 to address concerns raised by peer review of their proposals.
Deadline: Tuesday, July 15

Team Building for Large, Collaborative Grants

This internal award program aims to develop and support collaborative teams interested in pursuing large, multi-investigator, center-level external funding for research that requires a team-science approach. These awards, intended for researchers with a track record of securing sponsored funding, aim to facilitate the development of collaborative research teams and support planning activities that enable the submission of a competitive research proposal to an external sponsor. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

WRAP Funding

This internal grant opportunity is designed to support faculty in “wrapping up” their single-authored or co-authored book projects. Given the increasing costs associated with book publishing, the WRAP, or “Writing and Publishing,” program will help offset costs associated with the final stages of publication/production, when a book will soon appear in print (or on digital platforms).
