Deadlines and Meetings

The HRPP Director in consultation with the IRB Chair may convene the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for a special meeting during the month of July based on their determinations of the following:

• An externally sponsored study requires high-priority, time-sensitive full-board review that cannot wait until the next regularly scheduled meeting
• Initial review for a protocol of high institutional priority
• Pending expiration of an IRB approval for a protocol of high institutional priority

Please note:

• Ad hoc meetings are only scheduled once the administrative staff verifies that submission materials are complete.
• The meeting is contingent upon securing enough board members to form a quorum and ensuring a non-scientist representative is in attendance.
• Ad hoc meetings are subject to the same rigorous review processes as regularly scheduled convened meetings.

* There are no submission deadlines for expedited and exempt applications.
